We’re growing fast, and we’re looking for talented people join us! We are seeking a full-time Director of Marketing to join our team at Valley Fiber. The Director of Marketing reports to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Job Overview:
As the team lead of the Marketing Department, the Director of Marketing works interdepartmentally to create and manage the assets required to effectively market Valley Fiber Ltd. and its associated products and services. This includes the management and execution of go-to-market campaigns, overseeing the creation and production of marketing collateral, and managing Valley Fiber Ltd.’s public facing digital assets including websites and social media platforms. This will be done according to the overall sales & marketing strategy, developed in concert with the VP of Sales & Marketing and the directors of consumer and commercial sales. On an as-needed basis, the Director of Marketing will also assist in public relations and media relations.

What You’ll Do:
– Oversee the Marketing Department including staff and external contractors
– Provide leadership to the Marketing team, including hiring and performance coaching
– Author or co-author Valley Fiber’s annual strategy plans in both Consumer and Commercial Sales
– Develop and execute Sales and Marketing strategies to address opportunities in both Consumer (B2C) as well as Commercial (B2B, B2G) segments. Development of these strategies may be initially led by the Director of Marketing in concert and collaboration with the VP of Sales & Marketing, the Directors of Consumer and Commercial Sales – in support of the revenue objectives of the organization as a whole.
– Oversee the management of all advertising platforms and campaigns for Valley Fiber Ltd. and its subsidiaries
– Oversee the management of content creation for the Marketing Department which includes photography, videography, graphic design, written and digital communications, as well as creation and production of marketing collateral as required for stakeholders throughout the organization
– Oversee and contribute to the management of the organization’s digital channels (websites, social media, SMS marketing) and associated assets for Valley Fiber Ltd. and its subsidiaries

What You Bring:
– A successful candidate for this position should possess an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or equivalent education. Years of experience in a related field may be considered, an MBA or MSc in Marketing is considered an asset
– A minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience in marketing, communications, or business is required for this role. Experience in the tech industry or working for an ISP is considered an asset
– Professional written and oral communication skills, an ability to work interdepartmentally, a high level of organization, task and project management skills, and creativity are necessary skills for this role. Experience or skill in graphic design, videography, photography, copywriting, web design, programming, social media management, traditional and digital advertising, and digital analytics are an asset
– Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and specifically InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and Audition are an asset
– The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines, to work well independently as well as in a team setting, to set and achieve goals, and to communicate complex ideas in a relatable manner are all valuable characteristics for the Director of Marketing
– Certifications in social media management, Google Ads, or Google Analytics are considered an asset
– Strong background in managing and reporting on related sales and marketing budgets as they relate to outcomes of the associated departments and the company as a whole
– A valid Manitoba license is required to travel between Valley Fiber’s offices

Working Conditions:
– Ability to work on internal systems for long periods of time
