We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Designer to join our team. The Designer reports to the Director of Planning & Engineering.

What You Bring:
– CET or Project Management degree/diploma is a valuable asset
– Previous construction and drawing creation experience is considered a strong asset
– Previous experience using AutoCAD is required
– Previous work experience in communicating with contractors
– Valid class 5 driver’s license is required
– ArcGIS/GIS software experience is an asset
– Proficiency in MS Office is required
– Ability to create tasks and assign to team members to meet deadlines
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Demonstrated high level of professionalism
– Ability to multitask efficiently
– Meticulous attention to detail
– Working in a fast-paced office environment
– Ability to thrive under pressure, changing priorities and deadlines
– High level of organization
– Efficient time and project management skills

What You’ll Do:
– Create construction drawings and act as the point of contact for contractors
throughout a project
– Direct junior staff on drawing creation tasks as required to meet deadlines
– Complete and review Outside the Plant (OSP) fiber optic
– Coordinate deadlines and approvals
– Contractor coordination, site reviews, taking in contractor requests, modifying
drawings, etc.
– Quantity reviews, cost estimates, etc.
– Direct junior drafters with various tasks and reviewing drawings and
– Report on timelines, deadlines, and tracking project completion
– Network design and construction drawing creation

Working Conditions:
– Majority of time spent in the office
– Some site visits required to review conditions with contractors/clients as required
