We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Telecom OSP Design Technician to join our team at Valley Fiber. This is a full-time fully remote position. This position reports to the Director of Planning & Engineering.

What You’ll Do:
• Primary focus on preparing fiber allocation documents for dedicated FTTH
network designs
• Design fiber optic network layouts
• Complete and verify construction drawings
• Perform network build cost estimates
• Perform alignment drawings for permitting.
• Provide support in fiber management throughout the network.
What You Bring:
• Experience in OSP design for a dedicated FTTH network (Includes fiber
optic cable/conduit management and knowledge in FOSC diagrams)
• Proficiency with ArcGIS software, ArcFM (within ArcGIS platform), Autodesk,
AutoCAD, Google Earth software is required
• Basic knowledge of ISP (inside plant) fiber optic designs
• Previous experience in construction, telecommunications, and project
management is an asset
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to negotiate effectively and professionally with contractors, rural
municipalities, etc.

• High level of professionalism
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Self-motivated to meet short term deadlines
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work and engage others as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
Working Conditions:
• Ability to work remotely on internal systems for long periods of time
• Ability to work overtime as required
