TV Technician

Valley Fiber Ltd. is a locally owned and operated technology firm based out of Winkler, MB. The ever-growing need for fast and reliable telecommunications has spurred on innovation. This innovation and its almost limitless potential have been one of the core passions for the Valley Fiber Development Team. For the last 5 years, this team has been working on bringing its next generation conscious fiber optic infrastructure design to the region. Valley Fiber has formed many partnerships with industry-leading developers to create and finalize its innovative design. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated TV Technician to join our team.

Who You Are:
• Basic knowledge of TV technology
• Proficiency with MS Office and Visio
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and databases, i.e. SQL and Oracle
• General understanding of Internet industries and technologies
• Direct knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, peripherals, and
IP protocols required
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a high-performance team
• Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment
• Demonstrated strong sense of ownership and initiative
• Self-motivated, willing to learn and creative

What You’ll Do:
• Responsible for hands-on delivery of TV services
• Work with multiple vendors on the integration and configuration of various
delivery platforms
• Analyze test results
• Review network performance reports to provide and implement
recommendations for quality improvements in TV services
• Participate in the design and implementation of new solutions
• Assist with creation and maintenance of databases, schematics, and any other
engineering-related documentation
• Lab testing of new video equipment as well as lab tests of software upgrades
for existing TV equipment
• Documenting processes, best practices, and providing guidelines for activities
related to TV design and growth
• Assist with operational troubleshooting as required
• Maintain 24/7 operational status
